The Horror Within brings you the finest horror fiction, art, reviews, commentary, interviews, and whatever else we think you’ll dig. We throw up fresh, spicy content on a regular basis as we wait for you to gaze in wonder at everything we have to offer. Horror is what we do, what we live, what we breathe—but we also like cookies.

Want to get involved with, or be featured in The Horror Within?

The Horror Within will be releasing a bi-annual “Best of” anthology that you can buy in digital or (hopefully) print. Yeah, we’re excited too. And I bet you’re wondering exactly who we are.

Editor-in-Chief: Wednesday Lee Friday

Wednesday Lee Friday is the author of A Stabbing for Sadie, Kiss Me Like You Love Me, and The Finster Effect. Wednesday is a Michigan resident and HWA member who holds a BA in theater and broadcasting from Olivet College. She is the former managing editor of Under the Bed magazine, and is currently a TV Reviewer at 411Mania, and a staff writer at Wednesday Lee Friday eats true crime for breakfast, knows enough Dothraki to buy a horse, and plans to boycott Amazon if they don’t pick up Hannibal for Season Four. She was born on a Tuesday, and hates when people ask her that question.

Movie Writer (and other stuff too): Gena Radcliffe

Gena Radcliffe is an office drone by day, writer and superhero by night. She’s only seen one of the SAW movies, but can boast having seen all of the Faces of Death movies.

Literature Reviewer: Patrick Brennan

It was a dark and stormy night, and young Patrick Brennan was busy raiding his mother’s dusty bookshelf for something to read. Suddenly, fate struck the house like a lightning bolt and a worn volume of the Collected Works of Edgar Allan Poe fell into his hands. He has been a fan of the frightening side of the written word ever since. Today, Patrick lives and works in his small apartment in Toronto with his wife Norah, their book collection, and the ghost of an old woman who used to call their apartment home many years ago. She’s very nice, but doesn’t have a taste for the horror stuff–prefers mystery novels.

TV Writer: Mord McGhee

Mord McGhee is the pen name of a retired heavy metal musician.

He stumbled onto the literary scene with GHOSTS OF SAN FRANCISCO: TALES OF ECLIPSE VOL.1. Against all odds, the self-proclaimed “author of dumb books” was nominated and won a Poynter’s Silver Science Fiction Global eBook Award.

As a result of this accident, Mord was turned into a real-life radioactive super-villain. His attention turned to the realm of horror with the publishing of a “gut-twisting riff on Jack The Ripper,” MURDER RED INK Within a month the book was nominated for Horror Novel of the Year on and Luck? Voodoo? Who knows… but nobody is more excited to join the excellent staff at The Horror Within as a TV Review Columnist than this reclusive enigma spun from the tangled web of the MTV generation.

The Horror Within seeks a regular swag writer to cover horror-themed analog games, apparel, figures, toys, and the kind of stuff we all wish we had enough money to buy. We’re also seeking interviewers and welcome pitches for one-off articles. And of course…

We want your fiction and art. Details can be found on our Submission Page.

Thanks for being here, and get ready to experience The Horror Within.
